About Pavlo Isaiev
One question won't let me go: why systems hold and why they break. Systems made of people, rules, and habits: a school, a business, an army. And a single person is a system too.
The question first appeared back in school. The centralized system was solid in its foundation and archaic in its growth: decisions were made by people who did not answer for the consequences. I had no words for it then. The words came later, in Vernadsky, Nietzsche, Kant. But I never lived by what I read. Everything passed through my own observation and my own notes.
I reached university through olympiads in chemistry and biology. They were life exams, a test of whether self-teaching works. It worked.
Then came the test of practice. First inside someone else's system: from sales manager to commercial director of a large steel-trading company. From the inside you can see where a system works, and where it merely holds because the people in it have not yet grown tired.
Since 2006, my own small trading business: import, wholesale, and e-commerce. I created and grew it on architecture: roles, processes, automation. With no vulnerabilities, as I saw them at the time. People are unstable. That is the starting condition. A system must stand when a person wavers.
In 2022 life changed. In 2023 I was voluntarily mobilised into the army. I trained snipers, soldiers, sergeants and officers, then a corps staff. After being wounded I remain in service. I study experience and write doctrinal materials: an instrument that changes with the war.
The army showed me more than school and business combined. Incompetence can be overcome. The absence of a system can be overcome. The only insurmountable thing is the refusal to think.
This blog is my thinking, taken outside. Primary sources, verified facts, counterarguments. The final text is mine; I publish it myself. No clickbait. "Why" over "how."
With age, thinking loses its flexibility, invisibly to its owner. So far I manage to keep mine. But claims like that are exactly the ones I trust least. That is why I write in public: a published text can be challenged. Self-assurance cannot.
